Your first pictures!

Dear Huckababy,

Here you are! This is the first time we ever saw you! I was so, so scared this day because your daddy and I had gotten some scary news a couple of weeks before. One doctor told us you might be in danger (and was not very kind about it) so I went to another doctor who did some tests and said you were okay. Just to be sure, they wanted to look at you and make sure you were okay in there. You were so small I couldn't see you at first! But finally, there you were. You looked like a little dot! :) But I could see your little heart just beating away. You heartbeat was 103 beats per minute and I was 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant. The doctor told us that your tiny, beautiful heart probably just started beating that day!! They gave us this picture and said we would never be able to convince anyone it was a baby, but it was!!! It was you!!!

Then just 2 weeks later we got to see you again (doctors are really careful once you get a big scare like we did). I was 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant. This time I saw you right away! You were too young to be moving yet, but that little heart was pumping like crazy! Your heartbeat was 171 beats per minute! You were so much bigger than you were just 2 weeks before! Your back was to the camera, so we couldn't see your little features but we knew it was you. When I saw you that day, suddenly I knew that my heart was now in a different part of my body and would never be my own again.

The doctor is happy now and says you are just fine and we won't see you again until the beginning of March. This will be when we find out if you are a boy or a girl! They tell us that you are due to arrive on July 27, 2011. However, I am told that babies never get here on time! Please don't make your mama and daddy wait too long! I am amazed everyday to think of the miracle that is you. It's awe inspiring how much you change and grow everyday. I am so privileged to get to give life to you. Thank you, little miracle.

I love you,
Mama
